YOUnity LA Wildfire Relief Fund

Shelter pets waiting for homes in LA area shelters are being brought to the Northwest to be adopted. The Seattle Humane Shelter requires help to support these animals while they are waiting for their forever homes.

Supporting relief efforts for those impacted by fires in the Los Angeles area. Zai Lab fund benefits the American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, and Pasadena Humane Society.

At Pantheon, we believe in the power of community. Today, we stand in solidarity with people in the Los Angeles area affected by the ongoing wildfires. These fires have disrupted lives and businesses, and we want to make a meaningful difference. Education is very key in today's society and many kids in the villages of Uganda are missing this opportunity due to poverty which hinders them to obtain education and also scholastic materials. In 2022, I and my family made a decision to support over 60 kids from Primary to University levels to obtain better and meaningful education. We have been catering for school fees and school requirements for boarding section using our savings in Buikwe, Mukono and Jinja districts. But as the economy is hardening and resources becoming very scarce, we have found ourselves not affording to pay for all the kids we started with, yet these are brilliant and promising citizens of tomorrow. It's very painful to see these vulnerable kids drop out of school since they won't be with any means to support them. I hereby request anyone with a good heart to support this cause. As first term of 2025 soon starting in February, we have found ourselves at the crossroads and we call upon all of you from all walks of lives to support us so that these kids can go back to school and also finish their education. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation is a public benefit organisation registered under Polish law. In 31 years of our charitable endeavours, we raised nearly PLN 2.3 billion We purchased and donated 72,000 pieces of medical equipment Our objective is to support public healthcare in Poland. We achieve this goal by purchasing state-of-the-art equipment for Polish hospitals and clinics. We have also initiated and helped to run eight nationwide medical programmes, which aim to transform medicine in the country systematically. The purpose of our educational programme is to introduce CPR lessons to primary schools nationwide. We work to raise awareness and improve health prevention in the entire country. Our Foundation's work is focused on supporting children's medicine and enhancing the level of care offered to senior patients in geriatric and long-term care units.

From Time Magazine: At least five people have died and thousands of residents have been forced to flee in the wake of raging wildfires in the Los Angeles region, as firefighters have struggled to contain several blazes that were fanned by strong winds and are expected to worsen. Fueled by low humidity and raging Santa Ana winds of up to 60 mph, the Palisades Fire burned through 17,234 acres by Thursday morning, while the Eaton Fire had spread across 10,600 acres. Both were 0% contained. Firefighters are battling five fires across the Los Angeles area at once. Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell crews are facing "unprecedented conditions,” and asked people to heed evacuation orders at a press conference on Wednesday morning. “This is a tragic time in our history here in Los Angeles, but a time when we’re really tested and see who we really are,” McDonnell said. Dry conditions and powerful Santa Ana winds combined to form devastating wildfires on January 7, 2025. Multiple Los Angeles County neighborhoods are experiencing the impacts of these fires, including the Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, Altadena and Sylmar. Evacuation warnings and evacuation orders are in place, impacting tens of thousands of area residents. Damage to and loss of homes, businesses and infrastructure is significant, with thousands of acres burned. Your donation to this Fund will assist the following organizations with providing short-term and long-term relief to the impacted areas. Castle in the Clouds is located high in the Ossipee Mountains overlooking Lake Winnipesauke. This landmark estate was built in 1914 by shoe magnate Thomas Plant and is now a house museum, open to the public and surrounded by 5,400 acres of pristine forestland protected by our partners the Lakes Region Conservation Trust. In the 17 years since the Castle Preservation Society took over the restoration of the historic buildings and management of the attraction, the Castle has evolved into a valued community resource in addition to being an important NH tourist destination. The Castle serves the region with a wide variety of public programs, an outstanding restaurant with special Music Nights, an award-winning wedding venue, and exciting educational programming for local schools. We have over 50,000 in-person visitors annually, with hundreds of thousands of views of our website and social media channels. The Castle Preservation Society’s mission is to preserve, interpret and share the buildings and landscape of the Castle in the Clouds as a cultural and educational resource for the benefit of the public. Each visit supports our mission to preserve, restore, and share this beautiful New Hampshire icon. Admission fees, restaurant or gift shop purchases, and wedding and event rental fees help to ensure the enjoyment and enrichment of generations to come. On the 2nd of January 2025, the world's largest textile resale market that is home to 30,000 people that deal with more than 15 million secondhand clothes that come in from around the world each week, burned down. Overnight, thousands lost their livelihoods and their opportunity to engage in a just transition in fashion as over two thirds of Kantamanto Market in Accra, Ghana was razed to the ground due to improper, unsafe, and unstable construction. The fire was devastating, affecting and displacing nearly 8000 of the 30,000 retailers in the market. What this means for Kantamanto and Accra is clear as 10 of its 13 sections are now decimated; what this means for the global fashion industry that relies on Kantamanto to deal with its waste still remains to be seen. Help is needed now, support with as much or as little as you can - it will go a long way as it won't just help them today, but support with building a better, safer tomorrow.

It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres. So, together, let's Accelerate Action and speed up the rate of progress worldwide.

A small non-profit but 100% run by unpaid volunteers including myself for many years, where every single penny goes to schooling or athletic programmes in remote villages in several African countries. Mostly in north east Kenya but also a few other locations like Houtbaai in South Africa. In a volatile world, it is important not to forget about these small but locally impactful projects. We work together with real local heroes such as Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon, herself a former beneficiary, and Haile Gebrselassie.
