Water scarcity affects more than 40% of people worldwide, an alarming figure that is projected to rise as temperatures do. As drought and desertification worsens due to climate change, more countries are expected to experience water stress. By 2050, it is estimated that 1 in 4 people will suffer recurring water shortages.

Time, policy and funds are required to improve current infrastructure and create new points of access to clean water. More focus can be placed on capacity-building support for developing countries when it comes to water and sanitation activities and programs; this would include water harvestation, desalination, water efficiency, wastewater treatment, and recycle/reuse technologies.

WaterAid transforms lives by improving access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities. We work with local partners and influence decision-makers to maximize our impact. Help us reach everyone, everywhere with safe water, sanitation and hygiene by 2030.
CWF's mission is to develop strong grassroots environmental leadership and to bring together diverse constituencies to work cooperatively for changes that improve their lives, focused on health, consumer, environmental and community problems.

Water For People exists to promote the development of high quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments. We envision a world where every person has access to reliable and safe drinking water and sanitation.
